Guardian Home Program

A premium puppy in your family — and a meaningful partnership in our breeding program.

A Loving Alternative

What is a Guardian Home?

If you're interested in a high-quality puppy and live within an hour of the Ogden, Utah area, our Guardian Program may be the right fit. We place breeding prospect dogs and puppies in local families at a small upfront cost, while retaining the breeding rights on that specific dog.

This is not a program for people interested in becoming breeders themselves — it's for families who want to support our program and receive a beautiful, healthy puppy without the premium cost.

At MTN Green Doodles, we believe dogs belong in a family — doted on, loved, and part of daily life. Never kenneled. A guardian family provides a permanent forever home for a dog acquired at low cost, with the understanding that we'll retain breeding rights for a specific number of litters (or a specific period of stud use) before releasing the dog fully to you.

Two Paths

Female vs. Male Guardians

Each path has its own commitment, geography, and rhythm.

Female guardian

Female Guardian

Most of our guardian opportunities are female. A female guardian commits to a specified number of litters — typically four successful litters in her lifetime (a successful litter is two or more puppies).

You'll notify us when she comes into season. She's away from your home for the week before delivery and through weaning — generally about 8–9 weeks total. Breeding can happen at your home or ours, depending on flexibility and distance.

After her final litter, we spay her and release her fully to your family.

Male guardian

Male Guardian

Male guardian opportunities are reserved for families in close physical proximity to us — flexibility is key. Males are generally not kept overnight at our home.

Females may come into season more quickly or often than expected, so we may borrow our guardian boys frequently. After a "date," he returns home until the next one. We require close communication and flexibility about his use.

At the end of the agreement period, he's released fully to your family.
