The Seller guarantees that the puppy is in good general health at the time of transfer, excluding common intestinal parasites that may occur in puppies despite routine preventative care. Prior to placement, the puppy will have received:
- Age-appropriate vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian and health clearance
- Routine deworming
- A subcutaneous microchip
The Seller provides a limited health warranty against severe congenital or hereditary defects for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
The Seller confirms that reasonable and responsible efforts have been made in the selection of breeding pairs, including genetic health testing to reduce the risk of hereditary conditions.
For the purposes of this agreement, a severe congenital or hereditary defect is defined as a condition that:
- is present at birth or determined to be hereditary in nature; and
- is life-threatening or severely impacts the puppy's quality of life or ability to function as a companion animal.
Any suspected congenital or hereditary defect must be diagnosed and documented by a licensed veterinarian. The Seller reserves the right to obtain a second opinion from a veterinarian or veterinary specialist of the Seller's choosing at the Seller's expense.
In the event of the puppy's death, a necropsy performed by a licensed veterinary pathologist may be required before any warranty claim is considered. If a necropsy is not performed, or if results are inconclusive, the health warranty shall be considered void. The Buyer must notify the Seller within seven (7) days of diagnosis and provide all requested veterinary records related to the condition. If a qualifying congenital or hereditary defect is confirmed during the warranty period, the Buyer may receive a replacement puppy of equal or lesser value from the next available litter. The original puppy is not required to be returned, provided sufficient veterinary documentation is supplied.
Selection of the replacement puppy shall be at the sole discretion of the Seller. Color, gender, markings, and timing are not guaranteed. The wait for a replacement puppy may be six (6) to twelve (12) months or longer depending on litter availability. Any transportation or shipping expenses related to the replacement puppy are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
If the Buyer euthanizes or otherwise disposes of the puppy without first allowing the Seller the opportunity to obtain a second veterinary opinion, all rights under this warranty are forfeited.
This warranty does not cover:
- Viral or bacterial illnesses, parasites including Giardia or Coccidia, or stress-related conditions
- Hernias, improper bites or retained teeth, allergies or sensitivities
- Conditions resulting from improper nutrition, obesity, overexertion, neglect, or environmental factors
- Cancer or endocrine disorders
The Seller performs genetic health testing on breeding dogs; however, no breeder can guarantee the complete elimination of all hereditary or developmental conditions.
This warranty specifically excludes:
- Hip or elbow dysplasia, neurological disorders, seizures or epilepsy
- Conditions influenced by environmental, developmental, nutritional, or unknown genetic factors after transfer of ownership
No other warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied, are made under this agreement except as specifically stated herein. This health warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original Buyer.
Under no circumstances shall the Seller be responsible for veterinary expenses, medical treatment costs, emotional damages, incidental damages, or consequential damages incurred by the Buyer.
